HTC One M8 gets a lick of red and pink

A brand new gorgeous red version of HTC’s five-star One M8 smartphone will be an O2 exclusive, while the sultry pink version will be available exclusively at Carphone Warehouse.

As if the HTC One M8 wasn’t sexy enough already, we’re now being treated to a sleek new look as the red and pink models emerge. These bright and bold new versions rock the same specs, but a gorgeous new lick of paint, and you can pick one up from next month.

HTC One M8 launches in the UK in red and pink with the red version exclusive to O2

The red HTC One M8 will be an O2 exclusive, with presale launching August 5 and devices shipped August 7, while the pink version will also be available from August 7 with pre-orders opening today at Carphone Warehouse. Even better, pre-order customers will bag themselves a free Dot View case.

Both the red and pink versions of the device will retain that sleek, brushed metal finish of the original HTC One M8, originally available in Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Gold.

The HTC One M8 was announced back in March and released in April, and we awarded it the full five stars in our review, as it’s bloody marvellous. Featuring a super-sharp 5-inch 1080p display, the One M8 also packs in 32GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, a 2600 mAh battery and runs on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. You can pick it up in both 16GB and 32GB versions.

The device originally launched on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but an update to the One M8 started rolling out yesterday, bringing it up to Android 4.4.3.

Peter Frolund, UK and Nordics general manager at HTC said: “We introduced a range of bold colours to the One family last year and their popularity is testament to how important it is for our users to be able to select a shade that suits their style.

“The HTC One (M8) impressed everyone with its unrivalled design and we decided to make it even better by offering even more choice when selecting the best smartphone in the world”.

What do you reckon, does the One M8’s fresh new paint job make it look even snazzier? Let us know in the comments below. Personally, we’d happily rock either, but the red model has particularly caught our eyes…
