HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S confirmed to receive Jelly Bean

HTC was one of the first manufacturers to bring devices to market running Android Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. The HTC One Series all sport a version of ICS with the company’s Sense UI over the top and being premium devices in the company’s lineup, now look set to receive the next significant upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the near future.

Although the HTC One Series are already very capable devices, Engadget spotted that Australian carrier Telstra has made note of HTC “preparing” Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates for carrier testing. The updates in question are destined for the HTC One XL; the international version of the dual-core, Snapdragon S4-powered One X found in the US and the HTC One S.

It now transpires that the internationally available HTC One X, One XL and One S have all been confirmed to be receiving the next significant update for their Android OSs. Engadget were again the site responsible for receiving official word from HTC on the matter, who stated:

We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.

So there’s a list of the first HTCs to make the step up to Jelly Bean. What’s more the US iterations of the One X and One S also fall under the grace of the update, at least those on AT&T, T-Mobile and Rogers.
