HTC Rhyme shots leak: the smartphone formerly known as Bliss has a 3.7-inch screen

The bejewelled HTC Bliss that we’ve heard a bit about on the rumour vine is apparently getting a name change. According to leaked press shots obtained by HTC Inside in Germany, the smartphone formerly known as Bliss is now going by the name of HTC Rhyme.

Our hopes for Beats Audio fun were dashed though; despite is music-centric name there’s no built-in sound profile unlike the HTC Sensation XE announced yesterday. A double shame, as we’d have gone with a terrible Dr. Dre/HTC Busta Rhymes pun in the headline.

Anyway, the purported details on this bad boy are as follows: a 3.7-inch screen, HTC Sense 3.5 and Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

This looks to be a mid-ranger, following on from the Desire S, to which is bears a slight resemblance, not to mention the same screen size. So we’d expect a single core chip (800MHz, hopefully 1GHz) and probably 512MB of internal memory (upgradeable via microSD).

The press shots, if genuine, also give us a better idea of what Sense 3.5 will look like. We’re liking the more discreet icons that appear to recede into the background, creating a less cluttered look and feel.

No other specs or stats have been rumoured and it appears that the charm bracelet notifier thing has been scrapped. A good thing if you ask us, it looked pretty naff.

HTC declined to comment on the either the HTC Rhyme or the HTC Bliss when we spoke to them.
