The HTC Wildfire S is the successor to the hugely popular HTC Wildfire, one of the most affordable mobile phones in HTC’s range and one of the best mid-range smartphones around.
Running Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread, the Wildfire S includes the excellent HTC Sense user interface, with a selection of widgets, including weather and FriendStream pulls together Twitter and Facebook feeds. Of course it’s fully customisable with apps, shortcuts and folders too.
HTC has made some welcome improvements since the original Wildfire. The screen remains 3.2-inches in size, but the resolution has increased from 240×320 to 320×480. Elsewhere the processor has boosted from 528Mhz with 384Mb RAM to 600Mhz with 512RAM, which will bring a faster performance, whether browsing the internet or downloading apps from the Android market.
Connectivity includes Bluetooth 3.0, A2DP and WiFi, internal memory is 512MB, which can be expanded using a microSD card.
