HTC Zeta: Quad-core, 2.5GHz and Ice Cream Sandwich?

The rumour mill is rife at the moment when it comes to HTC (is it ever not?) With leaks about the HTC Edge with its 1.5GHz Tegra 3 processor being so yesterday, we’re now treated to leaks of what could be the first quad-core handset running at a jaw-dropping 2.5GHz? If the renders are anything to go by, the Zeta isn’t all about power with sharp angles and a large fascia with minimal bezel making this one attractive proposition.

The leaked specs suggest the HTC Zeta to have a 2.5GHz Qualcomm CPU powering it along, with 1GB of RAM, a 4.5-inch 720p screen, 8-megapixel camera and 32GB of storage. The Zeta looks ideally suited to power users with gaming and multi-media on the brain and if released, could be HTC’s upcoming flagship. The impressive 1830 mAh battery also looks promising and as you may be able to make out from the render, Beats Audio and HTC Sense are on board.

Measuring in at 109 x 60.9 x 9.8mm and weighing just 146g, the Zeta’s design is as intriguing as its spec sheet, with a light chassis, a strong look and curved backing. We can’t wait to get it in our hands on one and are hopeful for an official announcement either at CES in January or Mobile World Congress in February.
