Looking for a phone with a big screen without having to pay a big price? Vodafone and Huawei may have just the thing for you. The Chinese manufacturer’s latest smartphone attempt, the Ascend G510, will be available on Vodafone’s network starting tomorrow, bringing along a 4.5-inch screen and solid specs for just £130.
The screen may be 4.5-inches, but it doesn’t have the high resolutions you’ll find on mid-range or top tier phones. Instead, the Ascend G510 uses a 854×480 IPS panel. Not great, but not bad either. The handset also includes a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2Ghz, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a five megapixel camera.
That paltry storage can be boosted by an additional 32GB too thanks to the included microSD card slot. The G510 is capable of HSPA speeds up to 7.2Mbit/s, and also has Wi-Fi a/b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, and GPS radios. Battery capacity is rated at 1,750mAh, with the device coming in at 9.9mm thick and weighing 150 grams.
It’s not running the latest version of Android – you’ll be stuck with 4.1 for now – and you won’t be getting a stock experience either. Huawei has included its own UI modifications, dubbed Emotion UI. If this sounds like the kind of handset you’re after, then you’ll be able to pick it up from Vodafone starting from tomorrow, April 12th.
