There’s still time to kill until Huawei’s London event on June 18th, but the leaks just keep on coming. We already had a pretty good idea that the P6-U06 would make an appearence, and a leaked press shot all but confirms it at this point. The official name of the phone is the Huawei Ascend P6, and the official photo reaffirms that a svelte frame is on the way.
Twitter tipster @evleaks first pointed out the press shot on Sina Weibo – which required an account to view – with Engadget kindly making it available for all the world to see. As you can probably tell, the Ascend P6 is ridiculously thin. Rumours have suggested that it will be just 6.18mm thick. The chassis looks promising too, even if it does look suspiciously similar to the iPhone 5.
Huawei’s device chairman, Richard Yu, also confirmed that the phone would make an appearance at the company’s upcoming London event before quickly deleting his Sina Weibo post. It’s safe to say that this phone will definitely be with us shortly, so we’re really just waiting on the official announcement at this point.
Specifications for the phone are said to include a quad-core processor clocked at 1.5Ghz, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. Screen size and resolution aren’t clear, however, nor is the resolution of the camera. We’ll find out exactly what Huawei has planned for the phone come June 18th, so check back then for the full rundown.
Update: Here’s another leaked press shot courtesy of @evleaks showing the multiple colour options for the phone:
