Huawei’s first own-brand smartphones to launch exclusively at Phones 4 U

Huawei’s first clutch of own-branded Android phones are set to arrive in the UK as a Phones 4 U exclusive.

Both the unibodied-glory of the Huawei Vision, and the more cannily-priced Blaze are set to arrive at the UK retailer first – though the news has been tempered with a Q4 release date, a fair bit later than the September date mooted when the Vision was first revealed.

Announced earlier this month, the Vision is a mid-range smartphone with Android Gingerbread (2.3), with a 3.7-inch touchscreen powered with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Design-wise, it seems to be channelling the soul of the Nexus S.

It’s under 1cm thick, with high-definition video-recording possible on the 5-megapixel camera, with autofocus and an LED flash.

The Huawei Blaze is a new one; expect a £100-ish Android phone, but thanks to Huawei’s hardware chops, it still holds still a respectable spec sheet, with a mooted 800MHz processor and 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen. Like the Vision, it should also arrive with Android Gingerbread. (We’ve been in contact with Huawei, and will let you know when we get confirmation and more concrete specs for the little firecracker.)

There’s been a glut of cheaper priced Android phones recently, though not all have been created equally. We’re looking forward to seeing how the Blaze fares without any phone network lock-down.
