Apple has teamed up with Product (RED) to deliver a bunch of limited edition app updates which, it’s hoped, will raise some much needed revenue to continue the fight against AIDS.
The updates bring added functionality and aesthetic tweaks to the affected apps and 100% of the proceeds will be going to charity. The apps which are included are easy enough to spot too, as their icons have turned red, so if you see them, give them a tap and see what extra content you might be able to snag whilst helping out a good cause.
Many of the apps which have signed up to help Product (RED) in its mission to ‘deliver an AIDS-free generation’ are games, including such favourites as Angry Birds, Cut The Rope 2 and Farmville 2: Country Escape. However, the likes of Garage Band, the app which turns your device into a mobile recording studio has also gotten in on the act by offering a special loop pack which contains “300 guitar, bass, synth, and drum loops in a variety of genres.”
If mobile gaming isn’t your thing you can still get involved – Paper, the popular drawing app is donating the full fee from its Essentials pack to Product (RED), while productivity app Clear is pitching in by offering the profits from a Product (RED) theme which is now available.
If you want to unlock the extra content and do some good into the bargain, you’ll have to get a move on though, because the promotion will only be running until December 7th.
