iPhone 4S appears in Apple’s inventory

Ahead of next weeks event, the new iPhone has officially appeared in Apple’s inventory and it’s not called the iPhone 5.

9 to 5 Mac has a photograph from the inventory system showing the model number: iPhone 4S, White 16GB. The exact model number is MD239F/A

Although Apple has yet to confirm details, the phone will allegedly have a dual-core A5 processor, 8-megapixel camera, 1GB Ram, Speech to text and Assist.

After months of speculation, Apple finally confirmed an iPhone event will be happening on Tuesday October 4th (next week) sending out invitations stating: ‘Let’s talk iPhone.’

The picture above makes sense following the iPhone 4S appearing in AT&T’s computer system and just this week we heard that the new iPhone will be an incremental upgrade, with the iPhone 5 coming later.

Many people think it will be upgraded iPhone, called the ‘4S’ with a dual-core processor and boosted camera, that model number would certainly make sense following the move from iPhone 3G to 3GS.  There are rumours the hardware will be totally redesigned following the issues over ‘Antenna gate’ apparently confirmed by cases showing a different shaped iPhone appearing.

It’s only a few days until the launch now, we’ll bring you more news as soon as we get it.
