iPhone 5 O2 UK release date claimed to be 21st of October

What with Vodafone spilling the beans on the iPhone 5 coming in 16GB and 32GB versions (who knew?) it’s now O2’s turn to leak a juicy rumour.

According to Know Your Mobile’s tipster, an O2 sales person gave away Friday the 21st of October as the iPhone 5 release date

Nothing’s been mentioned about what sort of contracts it can be had on or the asking prices for either the 16 and 32GB flavours. We’re assuming that, as has been the case with previous iPhones, all the networks that will be selling them will be doing so for the same prices on very similar deals.

Also nothing concrete was confirmed regarding spec, so we’re left to guessing about that camera (8-megapixels? Made by Sony Ericsson?) the processor (dual-core?) RAM (1GB?) and even if it’ll be the same size and shape as the iPhone 4 or if it will have a radical new design.

We’ve reached out to O2 for a comment on this one and we’re waiting to hear back.
