Nokia only unveiled the Lumia 800 last month despite rumours that there would be several Windows Phones on tap, but that might still be the case. Pocketnow have gotten their hands on a render of what could be the next Nokia Windows Phone, the Lumia 601.
Little is known at this point, with no specs being hinted at, although the camera seems to be the 8 megapixel variety.
As Pocketnow are quite to note, it’s not exactly a super convincing render, especially the camera module on the back, so we could just be looking at yet another Photoshop mockup of someone’s dream phone. The exact same camera can also be seen on the Nokia C7, and although we can speculate that Nokia are simply reusing parts to aim this handset at a lower price point, we’re still pretty skeptical.
Having said that, it does look remarkably similar to the phone seen in the Nokia developer video seen several days ago. Again, whether or not it’s a real product is something we’re only going to find out down the road. There’s no doubt that Nokia will want to continue assaulting the market with Windows Phone handsets to regain some of their lost market share, but it’s hard to say whether or not this mysterious new device is another flagship phone or destined for the lower end of the market.
