It rains and then it pours; after the announcement of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer last week and the more recent leak of specs for the Acer A510 and A511 comes word that Lenovo is working on a 10.1-inch Tegra 3-powered tab that’ll run on Ice Cream Sandwich.
According to Engadget’s source, the as of yet unnamed device will be available by the end of the year and what’s more, it’ll include a fingerprint scanner as well (see below). The Motorola Atrix’s long-lost cousin finally comes in from the cold.
As well as giving you a spy-tastic way to unlock the tablet (we’re guessing), apparently you’ll be able to use it as a secondary optical control in addition to navigating with the huge 10.1-inch screen. Android evolutionary atavism rears its head. We just want to see a trackball on the next Nexus phone and we’ll be happy.
Additional vital stats of the Lenovo tablet include 2GB of RAM, a standard-sized USB port, camera (resolution unknown) and a ‘Special Fusion-Skin Body’ that, judging from these leaked pics, have a brushed effect, synthetic feel. More details on this beast as and when we hear it.
