LG Optimus 3D to get more 3D Gameloft games: BackStab, Shrek Kart and Star Battalion get the 3D treatment

The LG Optimus 3D is the GameBoy to the HTC Evo 3D’s GameGear; you might be able to watch films on the Evo 3D via HTC Watch (like the TV Tuner of old) but the LG Optimus 3D has got the games, man.

The gaming credentials of the Optimus 3D is set to be given a further push now thanks to Gameloft, who has announced that it’ll be 3D-ifying 10 titles from its HD range of Android games.

The games getting the extra-dimensional treatment are:

  • BackStab
  • Dungeon Hunter 2
  • Eternal Legacy
  • Fishing Kings
  • GT Racing: Motor Academy
  • Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus
  • N.O.V.A. 2
  • Shadow Guardian
  • Shrek Kart
  • Star Battalion

3D versions of Assassin’s Creed, Avatar, Real Football 2011 and Spiderman: Total Mayhem are available to download now for just 99p; we’ve not spotted any of the others arriving in the 3D games section yet.

It’s good to see Recombu favourite BackStab getting the 3D treatment. We’ll be giving this a go first; 3D Spanish cannonballs popping out of a 4.3-inch screen will either be the best thing ever or utterly nightmarish.

Of all of the games listed above Shrek Kart and Fishing Kings should translate the best to 3D; we’ve found that the simpler and less detailed the graphics are the easier it is to trick your eyes into ‘going 3D’.

Now that more 3D titles are confirmed, the Optimus 3D seems like a more viable purchase as a gaming device.
