LG reinvents the wheel by sticking a phone in a camera

What are we going to call this unholy creation of LG’s? Camera phone is well and truly taken, but phone camera sounds rubbish.

Clearly that’s the most important issue at hand when considering the L-03C, a point-and-shoot with telephonic capabilities.

It’s only set for the Japanese market at the moment, where geishas, sumo-wrestlers and other Japanese stereotypes can enjoy the 12.1-megapixel sensor, 3x optical zoom, 720p video capture, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connections. There’s not much more detail abounding on phone specs, but it does sound like the radio qualities are intended more for easy image sharing than for calling and texting.

The photos above reveal retro stylings and a decidedly camera-heavy feel to the handset. With relatively low-camera-spec, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not the LG L-03C satisfies anyone as either a camera or a phone.
