LG Star shines with an HDMI port, Tegra 2 chip and runs on Android 2.2

More leaked snapshots of the distant and mysterious LG Star have emerged, showing off a big old HDMI port on the top of the phone.

This is good news for those of us with HD Ready TV sets as it means you’ll be able to show off high-def pics and videos shot on the LG Star’s 8-megapixel camera. When we reviewed the Nokia N8, which also features an HDMI port, we really enjoyed being able to play Angry Birds on our big Plasma TV, so presumably you’ll be able to do the same with the LG Star.

We spotted these pics on Phandroid, where other listed spec includes an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor, suggesting the LG Star will be a real powerhouse. The only gripe we have so far is that it’s rumoured to ship with Android 2.2. Surely Android 2.3 will be the Android OS du jour by the time the LG Star arrives?

Still, the LG Star is shaping up rather nicely. We’re really looking forwards to getting our hands on the Star and the other dual core Androids when they touch down.
