LG X Screen: In a nutshell (UK specs, price and release date)

All you need to know about the LG X Screen, LG’s first 2016 mid-range mobile boasting the same ‘always on’ second screen as the LG V10, including the phone’s UK specs and what we know so far about the UK price and release date.

LG has just launched two new 2016 mid-range phones, the LG X Cam and the LG X Screen. Each phone packs a single stand-out feature that’s normally found on more expensive mobiles – a premium camera for the X Cam, and in the X Screen’s case it’s the same secondary display already launched on the LG V10.

Here’s what we know about the LG X Screen’s UK specs, price and release date.

LG X Screen UK specs

The LG X Screen’s main display is just under 5-inches in size and packs a 720p HD resolution, while the second ‘always on’ screen sits just above and is a 1.76-inch display that provides notification information and anything else you want quick access to, such as song information or quick shortcuts to your favourite apps.

Delve inside the LG X Screen and you’ll find a 1.2GHz quad-core processor backed by 2GB of memory, plus a 2300mAh battery. You get a 13-megapixel rear camera and front-facing 8-megapixel snapper, which are presumably the same optics as found on the LG X Cam, minus that secondary 5-megapixel rear-facing lens.

The 7.1mm frame is just a fraction thicker than the X Cam’s but still pleasingly light, and it comes in black, white and ‘pink gold’ finishes.

LG X Screen UK price and release date

So far LG hasn’t revealed the UK price and release date of the X Screen, but the phone will be shown off at LG’s stand at MWC 2016 (which kicks off next week). We’d expect to see the X Screen hit the UK around March/April 2016, for £200. We’ll update when more information comes out and check back next week for our hands-on X Screen review.
