London Cycle app goes Pro for ad-hating BorisBike fans

The Barclays Cycle Hire Scheme – or BorisBikes, as we prefer to think of it – has been a big hit among Londoners. Well, among those Londoners who aren’t scared of cycling on the same roads as London cabbies, obviously.

London Cycle is one of the most popular iPhone apps to be based on the scheme, offering maps and data on where there are available bikes. It’s been downloaded by more than 110,000 people in its free Lite version, but now it’s gone Pro, with a paid version.

What do you pay for? Well, no ads is the main advantage.

However, features of the app include real-time data on where cycles are available, cycle-safe directions from A to B along with a guide to how long the journey should take, and a rental timer and alarm to help you keep tabs on how much your journey is costing you.

It’s certainly the slickest BorisBike app that we’ve seen, and one that will get plenty of use if you regularly hop onto one of the cycles.
