We’ve caught our first video glimpse of Meego OS, the software being developed by Nokia and Intel to take on the smartphone world. The screenshots which did the rounds earlier this summer gave us high hopes, and we’re pleased to see the quirky aesthetic is still there.
The video shows a spot of social networking and the now de rigeur social network contacts making an appearance in the contacts book. The Ovi app store looks much more impressive ont he Meego device than it does on the lower-end handsets. Multi-tasking looks fairly straightforward, zipping between applications quickly and easily. Even the media player looks quite good!
Of course, there can be a world of difference between a YouTube video and actual user experience, but let’s just say we like the way Meego is going.
