Metro newspaper app launches on Windows Phone

Windows Phone users will now be able to catch up with free newspaper Metro via their handsets as Associated Newspapers launches an official app for Windows Phone handsets.

Metro is available free in many cities around the UK, but the free app enables you to catch-up on news on your Windows handset, including the HTC Titan and Nokia Lumia 800, without having the pick up a paper.

As well as news  and photographs from the paper, there’s also extra video content. The app uses the same vertical navigation of other Windows Phone apps, so you scroll right and left to swap between sections: Categories, Gallery, Settings, Videos and News.

You can create a Live Tile on the homescreen with a shortcut to your favourite categories, so News, Sport, Showbiz, TV, Gaming, Film, Tech & Gadgets and Weird sections, are only a tap away. Live updates ensure the content is updated regularly and it’s also saved in the background so you can check it out offline.

Have you downloaded the Metro App for Windows Phone? Let us know below what it’s like or via Twitter and Facebook.
