Online music service Musicovery has launched an iPhone app, and both promise to serve up songs based on your current mood.
How? You kick things off by tapping on a ‘mood matrix’ with two axes – calm to energetic, and dark to positive. Then, as songs play, you rate them as liked or not liked to help the service learn your preferences. There are also options to search for specific artists and use them as the basis for a personalised radio station.
The app is free to download, and requires no registration. However, if you do sign up for a free account, you can set your country and get more local music.
Meanwhile, premium Musicovery subscribers can get better sound quality, the ability to listen to songs marked as liked only, and an unlimited number of song skips.
You can’t get a premium account from within the app, but on the site, it costs 4 Euros a month (around £3.30), or 3 Euros (£2.50) if you sign up for a year.
