New HTC M8 images emerge… real or fake?

An HTC executive has confirmed the leaked images of the HTC M8 are fake, but it still looks hot.

Russian site MobilTelefon has released images of what is said to be the follow-up to the HTC One, the HTC M8. However, there was a lot of speculation over whether these images were real or fake. The display looks good, but in one image you can see an on-screen navigation setup, which appears to be missing in the next image. What’s more, the images have not come from a trusted source, and the blurring around the edges of the device don’t look very natural. Photoshop, anyone?

Sure enough, the director of HTC Netherlands, Mark Moons tweeted from his personal account: “Somebody has been photo shopping…”

Nevertheless, these images might show what we could be expecting from the HTC M8. It’s very similar to the HTC One but it’s had a lot of fine-tuning. It’s likely to have a 5-inch 1080p HD display, a Snapdragon 800 2.26 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and a dual-sensor Ultrapixel camera. The stereo front-facing speakers are also present in the images.

What do you make of this fake M8? Let us know by posting in the comments below.
