Twitter source leaks details of the new HTC M8 mini, a compact version of HTC’s yet-to-be-unveiled new smartphone
The original HTC One Mini was a stunning little handset, so it’s with great delight (although not much surprise) that we saw details of a new dinky HTC handset leak on Twitter. Good old @evleaks is at it again, revealing a pretty comprehensive list of specs for the 4.5-inch HTC M8 mini, even though the full-sized M8 (or HTC One 2, or whatever it ends up being called) hasn’t even officially launched.
That list of specs include a quad-core SnapDragon 400 1.4GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, 720p 4.5-inch display, 13-megapixel rear camera and a mighty 5-megapixel front-facer, and 16GB of storage expandable via microSD. KitKat 4.4.2 will be overlaid with Sense 6.0, and the bottom buttons will once again be on-screen rather than physical.
We’re surprised to see the rumoured cut-down processor, after Sony’s excellent Xperia Z1 Compact came packing a full 2.2GHz SnapDragon 800. However, the other specs are enough to get us excited, and hopefully the One M8 mini will be more affordable than Sony’s mini machine.
The full-sized HTC One 2 – already subject to plenty of leaks – should be launching at the end of March, and if these specs are already leaking, it’s likely we’ll see the HTC One 2 mini at the same time. Would you opt for a dinky model, or are you all about the dual-camera deliciousness of the full-sized phone? Let us know in the comments…
