New iPhone 4 unlimited data plan arrives on Three pay-as-you-go

Three Mobile’s exclusive all-you-can-eat data plan has now been made available to pay-as-you-go iPhone users.

For a £15 top-up per month, you get 300 minutes of talk-time, 3,000 texts, and now unlimited data- properly unlimited- has been added to the bundle.

There’s no throttling your connection if you go over a certain amount, and no chop-off after a few hours of streaming media.

It seems a well-pitched offer; no 24-month contract to tie you down to a single network, especially given that an announcement of a iPhone 5, or an iPhone 4S, is expected within the next six months.

Three is the only network to offer truly unlimited data on their phones; pay-as-you-go offers on other networks include 500MB from O2, with unlimited WiFi access on their range of WiFi hotspots, if you top-up £10 per month.

Vodafone gives you 500MB, provided more than a tenner is added each month.

Orange’s data allowance is capped at 250MB for that £10 top-up, while T-Mobile will give you unlimited web-browsing and email, but streaming media is capped at 500MB per month, for -you guessed it- top-ups of over £10 per month.

You will need to pay £499.99 upfront for the 16GB model, or £599.99 for the 32GB one, though you can now get it in both black and white. For £399, you can also get the older iPhone 3GS. No white version though. Sorry about that.
