If you’re a modern pop star, you must be in want of a branded iPhone music game. Everyone’s doing it, from Lady Gaga and Katy Perry to Metallica, Slayer and Linkin Park.
Now UK rapper Tinchy Stryder and Aussie chanteuse Kylie Minogue have jumped on the bandwagon too.
Tinchy Stryder’s Billionaire Bandit costs £1.19, and claims to be “the ultimate slots experience on your iPhone / iTouch / iPad”. That’s slots as in slot machines, obviously.
As you play, you hear music from Tinchy’s latest album, as well as soundbites from the man himself. There are 14 levels and the option to challenge friends on Facebook or Twitter. However, the feature that may sell this to fans is the fact that you can earn points, which can then be redeemed for discounts at Tinchy’s online clothing store.
Meanwhile, Kylie: Aphrodite is based on her latest album, and takes the form of a platform game, where you have to collect hearts from ‘Hade’s sky domain’, while dodging minotaurs and other obstacles.
There are ten levels to work your way through, but in all honesty, it looks a bit… well, given the high quality of regular iPhone games, this looks more like a promotional web Flash game than something you’d play for a long time.
Then again, it is free, so fans will no doubt give it a try.
