MTV has launched a new SpongeBob SquarePants game for iPhone and iPad. It’s called SpongeBob Marbles & Slides, and sees you taking charge of SpongeBob and friends to defeat the nefarious Plankton.
The game itself involves drawing ‘slides’ on-screen, to help marble-shaped SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy and Squidward roll through the levels while avoiding obstacles and traps. It sounds like it makes good use of both touchscreen and tilting, since once you’ve traced the slides, you have to tilt your iOS device to make the characters roll.
There are 60 levels to play through, with tools including flippers, cannons and teleports to help you progress. However, there’s sad news for UK SpongeBob fans: at the time of writing, the game is only available in the US App Store, at $2.99 for the iPhone / iPod touch version, and $4.99 for the iPad version.
Even so, it looks good – and there are still a LOT of SpongeBob-loving kids out there – so hopefully it’ll cross the Atlantic soon.
