The new Nexus 7 will launch on August 28th

There’s good news for anyone looking to get their hands on the 2013 version of the Nexus 7. Asus confirmed to Recombu last night that the Nexus tablet would launch here in the UK on August 28th, priced at £199 for the 16GB version and £239 for the 32GB model.

Sadly, there’s still no word on when the 32GB, LTE-equipped variant of the tablet will be making its way to the UK. We do know, though, that the cellular version will cost £299 when it does eventually arrive. Still, at least you’ll be able to get your hands on the Wi-Fi Nexus 7 in the next few weeks. Retailers like PC World and Currys previously indicated that the tablet wouldn’t arrive until September 13th, so it’s good to see Google and Asus beating that expected launch date.

Specifications for the new Nexus 7 include a 7-inch 1920×1200 IPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, a 5-megapixel camera, and the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system, Android 4.3.
