Not to be outdone by today’s Apple iOS 4.2 rumours, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) has stuck its head out of the oven with a suggested release date.
An errant tweet from Alvaro Fuentes Vasquez, a member of the Open Handset Alliance leadership team, reads: “Prepare your Nexus One (developer version) for Android OTA update 2.3 (Gingerbread) in the next few days”.
November 11th has been mooted as the date in question, given the recent announcement of a recent Flash for Android update arriving on that day too. This will probably be an update for developers only, however – it’s not clear how long we’ll be waiting for the consumer edition. We will, of course, keep you posted.
