Nokia 5250 Preview

The Nokia 5250 is a touchscreen music phone with a whole bunch of delicious musical treats. Not only can you save your own music files to the handset, it also offers access to Ovi Music Unlimited (previously Comes With Music) so you can download as many tunes as you like for free. Although the handset only has 51MB of onboard memory, you can expand it with a t 16GB microSD card. There’s also an FM radio tuner and the handset comes with Guitar Hero 5 Mobile pre-loaded for wannabe rockstars.

Unfortunately, there’s no 3G or Wi-Fi on the Nokia 5250, so although you can enjoy social networking, multiple email accounts, Ovi Store apps and instant messaging, it’ll all be fairly slow. The battery life is meant to be pretty good though – Nokia claims you can get 18 days of standby time, 7 hours of talktime or 24 hours of pure music playback out of it.

With a 2.8-inch screen and 2-megapixel camera, it’s not intended to replace your digital camera. Set to retail for around around £95, it certainly offers a lot for a music-lover on a budget.
