Nokia has finally taken the wraps off its 41-megapixel Windows Phone, the Lumia 1020, and has some accessories to go specifically with the handset to boot. While wireless charging isn’t built into the phone, Nokia will be offering a snap-on wireless charging cover that will enable it to work with Qi wireless chargers.
If we had to guess ,we’d say that Nokia didn’t include wireless charging by default in order to cut down on the thickness of the device. Having to attach an additional cover for the privilege of wireless charging isn’t exactly a great solution, but at least it’s an option.
The Finnish smartphone manufacturer will be releasing another accessory for the Lumia 1020 too, called the Camera Grip. The Grip will snap onto the front of the phone while adding some additional extras that make the device more like a traditional camera. There’s a much better grip on the back of the device for taking steady photos, as well as support for tripod mounts. The Camera Grip will also deliver some extra power to the phone, as it has a 1,020mAh battery included.
Nokia says that the Camera Grip should cost $79 (around £52) when it’s released in America, but there’s no word on if either accessory will make it over to the UK just yet.
