Mobile World Congress was a labyrinth of mobile manufacturers, carriers, accessory makers, app developers and someone from every facet of the mobile industry, so it’s hard to sometimes filter out the noise and pick up on the cream of the MWC crop, however thankfully Nokia were able not only to unveil two new Lumia handsets, but now their arrival in the UK is in the headlines, and it’s not too far off.
The new baby of the bunch; the Nokia Lumia 520 brings a clean vibrant design, Windows Phone 8 and a glove-friendly touchscreen to the table. In our first encounter with the 520 it looked and felt far more premium than its standing in the Lumia lineup would let on and now potential customers interested in getting the handset fresh from the show floor will only have to wait until April to pick one up for real.
So far we’ve only heard from UK on retailer Clove on the availability of the 520, but we’ll be updating with more carriers and retailers soon.
Presently only listed as available in either black or white, although Nokia are producing the 520 in red, cyan and yellow as well, a SIM-free, unlocked Lumia 520 will cost a rather impressive £169.99 off contract, with stock due in from April 1st.
