Nokia Lumia 610 confirmed and Nokia Lumia 900 for Europe

Rumours were swirling that Nokia were going to unveil some kind of budget Windows Phone set, and now all has been revealed. The Nokia Lumia 610 is the latest and greatest from Finland, only offering modest specs, but also at a modest price.

Screen size and resolution of 3.7-inches and 800×480 is hardly surprising, but it will come with an 800Mhz processor and 256MB of RAM, a first for Windows Phone, which until now demanded a minimum of 384MB. You’ll also get a 5 megapixel camera, and the Lumia 610 will be running the latest version of Windows Phone, Tango, designed specifically to allow lower specifications onto the platform. The phone is expected to come in at around 189 EUR.

If you were feeling jealous of our American friends over their secural of the Nokia Lumia 900, then fear not, true believer: it’s also heading to our shores, sans LTE, of course. Over here in Europe we’ll be graced with a HSPA+ variant, capable of reaching speeds of up to 42Mbit/s. Specs otherwise remember the same: that gorgeous unibody polycarbonate body with a 4.3-inch 800×480 ClearBlack AMOLED display, 1.4Ghz single-core processor, 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, and front facing camera. Nokia say it’s due in Q2, and pricing is said to be around 480 EUR.
