Nokia Lumia 900 render in sexy red appears: Looks a lot like a Lumia 800

There’s been a lot of buzz about the Nokia Lumia 900 of late and here’s the latest rumor-licious nugget to appear; a press render of a shiny red phone that at a glance looks very much like a metallic Nokia Lumia 800.

Sent to WMPowerUser by a tipster, the image appears to tally with the rumours of the Lumia 900 having a bigger 4.3-inch screen, suggested by the positioning of the capacitive keys at the bottom of the phone. They’re much lower down, giving a bigger screen more room to breathe.

There’s no explicit hint of a front-facing camera though, which we’d assume Nokia would be wanting to include here. But this isn’t a hands-on in the wild shot either, so this isn’t necessarily the final verdict.

The Nokia Lumia 900 is thought to have an 8-megapixel camera, a 1.4GHz processor and either 16GB or 32GB of storage.

Yesterday, existence of the Lumia 900 seemed to be all but confirmed by a loose-lipped Swisscom employee on Twitter.

Before then we’ve spotted an unannounced Nokia phone hidden in plain sight in a promo video and Paul Amsellem, head of Nokia France, has hinted at a Nokia Windows Phone phone that’s more powerful than the Lumia 800.

My Nokia Blog yesterday got wind of an internal plan that Nokia is calling ‘Operation Rolling Thunder,’ an aggressive sales plan to win the hearts and minds of the US market. It’s not a long shot to imagine a more powerful Lumia phone spearheading such an effort.

Nokia hasn’t officially announced a ‘Lumia 900’ to the world yet. And unless its planning to blindside us all with a surprise pre-Christmas reveal, we’re not expecting to hear anything official until CES in January.
