Nokia created a brand new camera app for Windows Phone that takes advantage of the 41-megapixel sensor on the Lumia 1020, but the company has said that it intends to bring Pro Camera to its other Windows Phones too. According to a post on Nokia Conversations, the company will be pushing Pro Camera out to the Lumia 920, 925, and 928 in an upcoming update.
It’s all part of Nokia’s “Amber” update that will add a whole host of new functionality for the manufacturer’s line of handsets. Including Pro Camera is a great little bonus, as it features a much better user interface compared to the default Windows Phone app. And the PureView cameras inside the 920 range of Windows Phones will be able to take advantage of the granular controls too, including ISO, white balance, manual focus, and much more.
There’s no exact word on when the Amber update will be pushed out to Nokia phones running Windows Phone 8, but the company has said in the past that it should be landing sometime this month. Other features on the Amber update are said to include Bluetooth 4.0 support, an unlock for the FM radio included on multiple Nokia handsets, the Smart Camera app found on the Lumia 925, and “double tap to wake” functionality for the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920.
