Nokia releases FaceLock for Symbian

I’m sorry to be the one to break this to you, but scientists lied to us about the future: there are no flying cars, no food in pill form, and we couldn’t even get those Nike Air Mags right. Never fear though, Nokia are here to help you plant a firm foot in the future with their new FaceLock app.

As you might have guessed, it’s relatively straight forward: the app takes a photo of your face using the front facing camera, and the next time you want to unlock your device, simply align your glorious visage with the rectangle to be granted access.

To get in on the action, you’ll need a Nokia handset running Symbian^3, although there doesn’t seem to be any compatibility issues with Anna or Belle. The app is available as a free download from the Ovi Store right now.
