The first press image proper of the Nokia Sea Ray appears to have been leaked.
What appears to be a promotional page cooked up by T-Mobile in Germany shows of the “neue Nokia Searay [one word]” running the Windows Phone7 Metro UI with a conservative black and white colour scheme.
There’s also a list of supposed spec announced in the blurb which reads:
“The new Nokia Searay.
Drive safely to your destination with Nokia – including 3D.
Representation and voice navigation.
Windows Mobile 7.5 (Mango) operating system.
Brilliant 3.7” AMOLED curved display.”
If this image and the specs are to be believed, then it looks like the Sea Ray and the Nokia N9 aren’t exactly the same hardware-wise.
That 3.7-inch screen is 0.2 of an inch shy of the Nokia N9’s 3.9-incher. It doesn’t look like there’s a front-facing camera anywhere on the Sea Ray’s body either. And then there’s the name ‘Searay’.
We know that’s what Stephen Elop called it when it was ‘accidentally’ unveiled earlier this year. But will Nokia be using actually going with this codename for it’s long-awaited comeback device? We assumed (hoped) that Nokia would go for something snappier, something less codenamey and something not named after an expensive kind of boat.
