Nokia has announced that the X7 and E6 have started shipping today, by way of its Nokia Conversations blog. The two Nokia phones are the first two devices that run on the new-look Symbian Anna OS.
Anna is basically a re-skinned version of Symbian that promises a user experience that’s both easier on the eye (and brain). We’re eager to see Anna in the flesh ourselves and see what changes it brings.
The Nokia X7, as we’ve seen, looks to be capable in the gaming department; that 4-inch screen certainly gives you a lot of entertainment real estate. You also get an 8-megapixel camera that can record HD video at 720p and has a dual-LED flash.
The Nokia E6, with its Qwerty keypad, pre-installed QuickOffice and 2-inch touchscreen is very much a work-oriented phone. The grown up, older brother of the X7 that went to business-school, if you will.
The Nokia E6 is already available to order for UK deliveries now, directly from Nokia SIM-free or on Vodafone and T-Mobile contracts. We’ve not seen any change to the X7 page on Nokia’s site, nor on Three’s Coming Soon page. Three still has a vague ‘June’ date for its ETA. Well, it’s the 1st of June tomorrow, so maybe we’ll see what tomorrow brings eh?
