O2 and giffgaff now stocking the Google Nexus 6 in the UK

You can now snag the Google Nexus 6 on O2 and GiffGaff here in the UK, with other carriers set to announce availability.

Google’s Nexus 6 is one of the most talked about Android devices on the market at the moment, and after a bit of confusion over availability, it’s now being offered with price plans on both O2 and GiffGaff in the UK.

Both carriers are offering the 32GB Midnight Blue version of Google’s phablet on a variety of deals, ranging from SIM free to heavily subsidised. There’s no mention of whether the 64GB iteration of the device will be made available in the future, but it’s nowhere to be seen for now.

GiffGaff currently has the device priced at £499 without a contract or £22.85 a month on a 24-month price plan, when paired with one of the provider’s goody bags, although you might need a bit of good luck getting your hands on one, as GiffGaff has already sold out, as has Google itself.

O2 has the device marked up at £479.99 for the SIM-free version and the most popular deal they’re offering appears to be for £38 a month, which gives you the Nexus 6 for no up-front cost with unlimited calls, texts and 2GB of data, as well as free O2 Wi-Fi.

The SIM-free prices being offered by both carriers are in line with Google’s own pricing, of £499 for the 32GB model and £549 for the roomier 64GB version.

The Nexus 6 is the first of Google’s devices to be put up for sale with a premium price tag attached and while the device has received solid reviews it’s worth remembering that there are plenty of other high-end devices on the market for similar money – or even less.
