The nation is all about sport in 2012 and a company such as Nike is well aware of this fact. In this instance they’ve teamed up with UK carrier O2 to help create a new services for the network’s customers. If you’re one of the 23 million O2 customers in the UK you’re about to receive exclusive access to the newest arm of the company’s Priority schemes, O2 Priority Sports.
We met up with the heads of both O2 and Nike as they spoke about the impending release of the new service. O2’s CEO Ronan Dunne explained that the new scheme is set to change the way sport is perceived in the UK, providing their customers with unique product and opportunity access.
Via an exclusive iOS and Android app launching next month, O2 customers will gain access to exclusive Nike features, promoted as a Digital Clubhouse, including free access to the new Nike+ Running app for Android; access to Nike products; and early access to Nike sporting events.
The new Nike+ gps Android app launches exclusively for O2 customers for the time being. Features include live map tracking, Nike product purchasing, Facebook integration and is available today.
Priority Sports follows O2’s Priority Moments app with geo-based services offering shopping discounts and users can even join in on exclusive training sessions with sporting legends, like Paula Radcliffe, who attended the launch, Mo Farah and Rio Ferdinand.
O2 customers can text ‘Sports’ to 2020 to get details of the app’s launch which is slated for August or follow #o2prioritysports on Twitter.
