O2 has announced its own deals scheme, set to rival the likes of Facebook Deals and VoucherCloud, teaming up with several major shops and services to offer its customers a raft location-based discounts.
Whilst it may be a stretch to save an alleged £105 per month that O2 say is possible, there seems to be plenty of good offers, especially if it maintains these deals in the long-term.
O2 has taken the fight to Orange, now offering half-price adult and teenager cinema tickets at the Odeon, from Sunday to Thursday. Other highlights include a free bottle of wine when spending over £25 at ASK, and ⅓ off your bill when dining with a friend at Yo! Sushi. From WH Smith, you’ll get 50% off two best-selling books every week.
There’s a few decidedly random offers: £10 fare on all National Express coach routes is another impressive offer, but it’s only available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. (We’ve published an extensive list of all the offers available at the bottom.)
To access the Priority Moments app, you’ll need to text “Moments” to 2020 from your O2 phone. You’ll then be sent a link to access, and after confirming you’re an O2 customer, you’ll be able to download the app.
It’s a very polished affair, with a nice animated intro. The app generally works well, with the ability to prioritise the type of deals you’re looking for shopping and entertainment, although we couldn’t get rid of all the restaurants if we were looking for service deals.
Once you’ve found the deal, it’ll be displayed on a map. (Deals are all location-centric) You can also expand and zoom-in on the map to find your way to the offer.
At the moment, most offers look set to expire within the week, but O2 are keen to stress that offers with their partners are for the long-term.
O2 Marketing and Consumer Director, Sally Cowdry said: “Only O2 can do this. No other companies in this space have the direct, loyal relationship with the customer. O2 is a trusted brand and through Priority Moments we have established long term partnerships with well-loved and respected brands that people want to engage with regularly. You will consistently find offers and experiences from O2 and these companies over a long period of time.”
Like any self-respecting app you’re able to share any good offers you find through Twitter and Facebook.
