O2 has just announced a value SIM-only deal for iPhone owners. If you’re happy to keep your existing iPhone or purchase the handset at full retail price, you can enjoy Visual Voicemail, 300 minutes, unlimited text messages, data and Wi-Fi for just £15 per month on a 12-month contract. Or, for a more flexible 30-day deal, you can get the same benefits for £20 without being tied into a year-long contract.
The new SIM-only deal comes in at a full £5 less than Vodafone’s equivalent, which offers 900 minutes, unlimited texts, Wi-Fi and 1GB of web at £25 per month for 12 months.
The introduction of tethering was a bittersweet development for iPhone owners, with the prices proving quite prohibitive. But O2’s new Internet Tethering Bolt On, gives iPhone users the use of their handset as a modem for a maximum cost of £2 a day.
The new SIM-only data-inclusive deals can also be used with any smart phone handset. Non-smart phone owners looking for a SIM-only deal can choose from a range of data-less tariffs. The cheapest will set you back just £10 a month, for which you get unlimited texts and 100 minutes, and you’re only tied in to a 30-day contract.
