Official: Nokia X7 coming to Three, runs on the new Symbian Anna, pricing TBA

Three has just officially confirmed what we kinda knew already; that it’ll be selling the Nokia X7 smartphone.

What’s interesting about this morning’s announcement is that it comes ahead of Nokia’s event (due to kick off at 9:00 AM today), and mentions a name for the new-look Symbian UI that we saw yesterday.

It’s apparently called ‘Symbian Anna’ and it features around fifty new tweaks and enhanements.

Some of these we knew about already, such as the portrait oriented Qwerty keypad (yay!) and the faster browser. Three’s press release also mentions a new ‘split view’ which allows users to keep an eye on things like messages and webpages while doing something else, like emailing.

Sounds interesting; with Nokia due to spill the beans in less than an hour, we’re sure we’ll hear more about these other forty seven enhancements.

Other confirmed specs of the Nokia X7 include a 4-inch ClearBlack OLED screen with a display ratio of 16:9. There’s also an 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, HD video recording and Flash support. The 1GB of on board memroy can also be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD.

Pricing and release dates still haven’t been confirmed – we’ll update this piece as soon as they are.
