Ones to watch at Mobile World Congress

HTC:

It’s likely that HTC will announce some pretty spectacular handsets this year in order to reassert itself as the Android king. Currently we’ve had plenty of rumours surrounding a tablet-based PC, possibly with some sort of adapted version of HTC Sense on board. The tablet is said to be called the HTC Flyer, with some reckoning that the tablet UI will be called HTC Sensation. On top of that we should hopefully get to see the leaked pair of Facebook phones that the company is said to be developing.

Samsung:

The recent release of the Nexus S has catapulted Samsung into the Android phone limelight. The company are commonly associated with their brilliant Super AMOLED display technology, something I hope to see further development and handset release with at MWC. We should hopefully see a Galaxy S2 (fingers crossed for dual-core) on show as well as get some hands on time with the recently announced Galaxy Ace, mini, Fit and Gio handsets.

LG:

A leak today suggests that LG is currently developing a 3D handset, so that is something we’d definitely want to see at MWC. The company is also to release the first dual-core smartphone; the Optimus 2X. This could mean that further dual-core handsets due later in the year are unveiled at MWC. Little solid fact exists about the rumoured LG Android tablet (apart from that it could be called the Optimus Pad), perhaps more will unfold at MWC.

Sony Ericsson:

Ok well first things first, we all want the Xperia Play/PSP Phone confirmed by Sony Ericsson. No one has yet obtained solid proof of its existence, but so many pics and hands on with supposed Sony gaming handsets have got us all too excited to see the company never confirm it.
