Online dating service Match.com launches its iPad app

Some iPad owners don’t need a human partner – they spend so much time caressing and cooing over their tablet, there’s no room for a third party. However, others are looking for a relationship as magical as their device.

If you’re in the latter group, check out Match.com’s just-released iPad app. It’s free, and ties into the millions-strong online dating service.

You can browse fellow singles near your current location, send free ‘winks’ to the ones you like the look of, and upload photos directly to your profile – although iPad’s lack of a camera makes this feature less useful than it seems. However, you can edit your profile, and rate your five daily matches.

The app has extra features for paying subscribers, including the ability to see who’s viewed your profile, and send and receive emails. The app is available in the UK App Store now, although non-members need to sign up for a free account to browse full profiles.
