Android phone bargain hunters rejoice; the spiritual successor to the popular Orange San Francisco has arrived. Or it will be arriving, depending on who you ask
Orange has officially announced the arrival of the Monte Carlo, it’s newest, fastest branded smartphone to date, later this week.
We’ve had a hands-on with the unbranded version, named the ZTE Skate. Yes, behind that thick coat of Orange paint is a ZTE Android phone – and the Chinese manufacturer looks set to bring the phone out under its own steam in the near-future. Here’s Orange bigging up the Monte Carlo for the camera.
The ZTE Skate, or Orange Monte Carlo, runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, has a 5-megapixel camera, and a huge 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen – matching the Samsung Galaxy S2.
Courtesy of Orange, you’ll get its very cool Signal Boost/smart Wi-Fi app; provided by Kineto Wireless, this boosts your phone’s signal for calls and text messages through wireless routers. You’ll also get Orange’s HD Voice, for crystal-clear voice calls.
We’re expecting to get our hands on one over the next few days; expect a review very soon.
