After our glowing 5-star HTC Desire review, it’s understandable if you’re desperate to get one in your sweaty little mitts. Here at Recombu, we were all rather taken with the black edition which you may recall originally popped up on T-Mobile’s web site.
A little while later, Orange claimed exclusivity of the black Desire (which sounds like something straight out of a Mills & Boon novel, no?) and this week finally started taking pre-orders to alleviate stock issues with the standard brown model – only to run out of black stock almost straight away.
A comedy of errors, you might say – but testament to the amazing popularity of HTC’s latest killer Android handset. Still, you can sign up for an email alert from Orange when the Desire is back in black – although it’s likely to be a little bit of a wait. In the meantime, get it in plain old brown (my own personal favourite, actually) from Vodafone or through Carphone Warehouse, or buy it sim-free for around £400.
