Student living is fun, certainly, but there are shortcomings to making your way through university, aside from the eventual dissertation that flags the final stretch of your degree and that’s money. Orange has introduced a new market-leading offer aimed at saving young people money on their phone bill.
U24 will benefit all Orange customers under the age of 24; offering an extra 1GB of data, and unlimited calls and texts to anyone on Orange and T-Mobile, following the two companies merger.
Whether you’re on a PAYG SIM/phone or in a contract, provided you’re paying over £15 a month, you’re eligible to make use of the network’s new service. U24 isn’t available for T-Mobile UK customers.
The service is also backed up by the introduction of a U24 app, for iOS, Android and BBOS. This app scans your phone’s address book, highlighting any of your contacts using Orange or T-Mobile numbers, making it easier for you to determine which contacts qualify for unlimited calling and texting.
Orange UK’s Simeon Bird, Director of Propositions said “We’re pleased to be able to reward our younger customers with such a great offer. Whether they’re going away to university, or starting out in a new career, with U24 we’re hoping to make life a little easier, providing them with an extra mobile data allowance and the potential to call and text over 27 million people as often as they like – all for no extra charge. ”
The scheme and the app launch today. PAYG needing to pop into their local Orange store with valid ID to get set up, whilst pay monthly customers will just be able to initiate the new service through Orange customer service.
UPDATE: The website tied into the scheme isn’t yet live, but check here later today and you might be able to sign up.
