Paid apps in Android Market now listed in local currency

Until recently, buying apps from the Android Market meant that you had to have a tab open in your browser permanently pointed at xe.com.

Now Google has updated the Market so that it automatically converts app prices into the Queen’s Money if you’re viewing it from the UK.

This gives you a better idea of how much you’ll be paying for an app which is great news. It looks as though apps bought from overseas will still be charged in their original currency.

So if your card provider charges for overseas purchases then you’ll probably still have to pay a conversion fee.

Still if you know what this is, you’re still going to have a better idea of the damage done to your bank balance.
