Pixellated poultry: Angry Birds gets ’90s make-under

For a spot of festive fun, Penney Designs has created some spoof screenshots of Angry Birds as though it had been released in the ’90s.

Inspired by Worms and Lemmings, the blocky pixel art take us right back to days gone by. Touches like the power and wind monitors are adorable but make us glad to be able to use the touchscreen to angle the disgruntled fowl rather than a D-pad.

Imagine a childhood spent obsessively obliterating pigs instead of obsessively obliterating enemy worms. How different things could have been.
