Instagram has opened up a pre-registration page wanting to be first to start turning their snaps into retro-filter-perfect creations first. No news on when the app will be available though unfortunately, just a message to say that “We’ll be in touch soon”. You can sign up here by simply adding your email address.

A hint from co-founder Mike Kreiger has set Droid-shaped pulses racing with by saying the Google Android team felt the app “leverages” the teams OS. So we could be looking at some increased functionality within the app that we have not seen on the iOS version.

Although users have up until now enjoyed the an add-free service, CEO Kevin Systrom makes a fair point when he said; Obviously, we didn’t start a business to not make money … Our focus now is on growing the network. You really need to build up the network, or no advertisers care.”
